Photos and Information About Abruzzo

One of my American friends coming back to the US after a trip to Italy wrote about Abruzzo: “...going to Abruzzo is like going through Italy’s “backdoor” because it is the remote countryside that most tourists never get the privilege of seeing...”

If you are looking for the “real” beauty of Italy, you are in the right place. In less than 1 hour you could drive from the top of a 2,000metres high mountain to the Mediterranean sea. In the same day you could ski or walk in green forest in the morning … and swim in the sea during the afternoon! Abruzzo is the “More Green” region of Europe: 3 National Parks and numerous minor protected areas. More than the 30% of the territory is protected by environmental laws. You could then find lakes, waterfalls, springs, promontories, vineyards, olive trees, gently hills changing colours in every season,...

I hope the photos in this section (all taken by me) will help you to have a better feeling about this amazing region. In the next few weeks I'll add more photos of Abruzzo, so continue to visit our website often...
